Drug Victims Remembrance Day Announcement
Background: Drug Victims Remembrance Day. Since 2024, Singapore has designated every third Friday of May as Drug Victims Remembrance Day. This day serves as a reminder of the harms caused by drug abuse, not only on drug abusers but also on those around them. This year, Drug Victims Remembrance Day falls on 16 May. Schools across Singapore will commemorate Drug Victims with a series of meaningful activities aimed at raising awareness of the dangers of drug abuse.
School-based activities. For this year, to commemorate
Drug Victims Remembrance Day, the school will conduct the following activities:

b. Classroom Activities
Guide for Parents. As a parent/guardian, you play an important role in guiding your child, including how to lead a healthy and drug-free lifestyle. Parents could refer here for practical tips to support your child/ward’s emotional well-being when addressing topics related to drug abuse, abusers, and victims.

i. Pop Up Displays: From 5 May to 18 May, spot the displays at Northpoint City, One Punggol, Our Tampines Hub, Suntec City, Bugis+, Funan, Clementi Mall and West Mall.
ii. The “Museum of Us” Exhibition: From 16 – 18 May (10am to 8pm daily), step inside the “Museum of Us” exhibition at Suntec City, Level 1 Atrium (Convention Centre). The exhibition will allow the public to learn more about the experiences of drug victims and the impact of drugs.
Preventive Drug Education Handbook for parents. For parents who wish to find out more, you could refer to the Preventive Drug Education Handbook which provides you with relevant preventive drug education knowledge, to identify tell-tale signs of drug abuse and parenting tips to engage your child in conversations on drug abuse.
