Beginning a New Chapter
Peirce Secondary returned home to Sin Ming Walk in December 2008 upon completion of the Ministry of Education's Programme for Rebuilding and Improving Existing schools.

The school is sited in a prime residential area surrounded by lush greenery. It is bounded by Bishan Park on one side; and faces across to Lower Peirce Reservior and the tree-shaded Upper Thomson Road on another side. The school uses its new facilities and quiet conducive environment to enhance teaching and learning for pupils.

The school has been posted only Express and Normal Academic pupils at the Sec 1 level for the past decade. The staff has been recognized with the President Award for Teachers (2007), Inspiring Teacher of English Award (2008) and NIE Mathematics Gold Medal (2010). It serves as the Centre of Learning in Innovation & Enterprise for the South 7 Cluster of schools

Issue 18: Books Selection @ Kinokuniya
Making reading meaningful for Peirceans is a high priority for Library@Peirce. One innovative approach is to bring the library to the students during a lesson. The best people to choose books relevant for the curriculum is of course our subject teachers!

Principal's Message

Welcome to the web-site of Peirce Secondary School. It is our vision that Peirceans will be Resilient Achievers and Responsible Citizens. This calls for individuals who will rise above challenges to stretch their potential. They will have a sense of belonging to school and nation; and seek to serve others.

To achieve this vision, we endeavour to cultivate caring relationships, establish positive expectations and encourage meaningful contribution within a supportive environment. Our teachers are engaged in curricular improvement for enhancing pupil learning experiences. The school has adopted a Home Room and Zone system for lessons. Learning centres have been set up for multi-disciplinary studies.

We believe in cultivating strong relationships, providing opportunities for all and that every pupil matters. The school will build on its strengths as it seeks to further raise standards in pupil achievement.

Supporting Singaporean Students
MOE has prepared a brochure on the various schemes that have been put in place to support our Singaporean students. The brochure also highlights the enhancements and new initiatives that were announced at the MOE Committee of Supply last month. We hope to provide readers with a broad overview of the many schemes that we currently have in place and they can approach the school or MOE if they would like to find out more about specific schemes.
